Spencer - 3 year Progress

Spencer's 3 year progress:

Weight: 30lbs 8oz 47th percentile
Height: 39 inches (3'3") 80th percentile

Spencer went to his 3 year visit with the doctor on Monday w/his brother. He is progressing well too. We are having to put him on a stool softener though b/c for a while now he's been having problems w/his bowel's being hard and his tummy hurting a lot so the dr has him on Miralax for a couple months to see if that will get him back on track. But everything else is great! He didn't have to get any shots this visit b/c the one you normally get at 3 he got sooner b/c they changed the timing of them I guess, so he got off scott free unlike his baby brother!! And of course the potty training begins! He loves his big boy underwear and has done good so far just issues w/nap and nigh time still! But we just started on Friday so it's to be expected!

He also loves his baby James very much!

Baby James - 2 Months

Baby James Progress at 2 months:
Weight: 10 lbs 1 oz 35th percentile
Height: 24 inches 80th percentile
Head: 14 1/2 inches 30th percentile

He is doing very well progressing and is a healthy baby boy! He just had his 1 month surgery follow up on Monday and all is good! Lungs sound very clear and his scar/insicion is healing up perfectly! They weighed him w/all his clothes on so I thought he was 10 1/2 lbs but w/out his clothes his true weight at the doctor on Friday was 10lbs 1 oz just to clarify! Some things he's been doing lately that give him his personality are:
  • smiling
  • cooing/talking
  • staying awake more often
  • loves his food, will eat forever and gets really mad when it's taken away to burp
  • is now starting to not fit in some newborn sizes
  • loves his binky and the vibrator
  • would swing all day long if I let him
  • talks back to you when you talk to him or smiles back when you smile at him
  • will look for noises when he hears them like the rattle
  • only cries when he's hungry or tired (most of the time)
  • is ticklish on his feet
  • his auntie Randi sais he has a really quiet cry
  • he snorts sometimes when he cries, it's hilarious
  • is happiest on his back stretched out
  • sleeps through the night
  • loves any kind of blankets on his face
  • loves his daddy, mommy, sister & brother :)

Here are a couple video's of him talking, smiling & playing w/his blanky!!

Birthday Catch up!

Well this is way over due, poor Spencer! His Birthday was on March 5th and he turned 3! James was in the hospital during that time so he didn't get a big party or anything b/c of being in Salt Lake but we did the best we could due to circumstances! So we took him to a Birthday lunch w/grandma & grandpa Penning to Olive Garden! It was really nice b/c the waiter said they don't sing for Birthday's so we didn't expect anything. So when a group of them came over we were really surprised and excited they did it anyway just for him! He was a lucky little boy :) He got a cool remote truck, Spongebob towell & Spiderman plate from Grandma & Grandpa, a bubble gun and road/train track rug for his room from Mom & Dad. He also loves his gifts from everyone else that gave him one, thanks to all of you :) Then Grandpa & Daddy took him & Brooklynn to a really cool kids museum! Also he stayed the weekend w/us at the Ronald McDonald house and got to play a lot in the kids room at the hospital which was really fun, so much to do there :) Happy Birthday big boy! We love you!!

And Happy Birthday to dear Brooklynn! I did do her's during Christmas time but hadn't posted pictures from the actual day! We celebrated her Birthday the same night we had Christmas w/Grandma & Grandpa Hirschi since we were in Washington. She wanted a horse cake so that's what is on top of the cake, she loved it! Happy big 9 Brooklynn dear :) We love you too!!

Easter Blessings...

Grandma & Grandpa Penning - Big James & little James (James is also named after his grandpa Hirschi too!)

Pictures after his Blessing... (He was blessed on March 27th) such a special day! Their were other loved one's that went but b/c of James' situation we didn't do a big gathering at home afterward so we didn't get picture's w/the rest of the family. But thanks to Grandma, Grandpa Hirschi, Brent & Randi's family, Jeff, the Isom's and our Bishop for coming to his special day! We love you all and appreciate your support and understanding of keeping it small b/c of the situation! Also thanks to my family (Pennings, Basfords & McCrackens) for driving such a long way's to be here and making sacrifises as well for baby James you are all amazing and I'm so proud to call you my family! Love you tons...

Nikki (our niece, James' cousin) was baptized on the same day so they got to share their special day's with each other! Thanks for sharing your day Nikki, we love you!

Happy Easter from the Easter Bunny!

James' Easter outfit! (This was Spencer's too when he was a baby)

Coloring Easter eggs! And yes that's conference in the background! We truly did watch conference this was the day my mom was leaving back to Washington and we had promised the kids could color Easter eggs and we had such a crazy week we never got it done so we did it on Easter day! But watched Conference the rest of the time!!!

Grandma helped baby James find his very first Easter egg!

Grandma's little bunnies!!!

Can we go yet?!?!

Enjoying their grandkids :)

Brooklynn & Nikki found the golden eggs during our Easter egg hunt! Good thing my family was here the weekend before Easter and we did our outside hunt then since on Easter morning we woke up to a ton of snow~

Brian took Grandpa, Danny & Ezzy up to the sinks while they were here to do some snowmobiling, Brooky was at school :( This was their first time (the kids) and they had a blast!

Daddy and his boys!!!

Brooklynn has really taken on the big sister role - she likes to read to James and help me with Spencer a lot. Not always excited about it but she is doing better and better at that part. Last night she helped Spencer go potty on the toilet, what a big sissy!

Here's Randi and I after the babies are finally here! Wish we had Ginger & Debra all here together so we could get a picture of us all after the babies were born but maybe this summer if Deb comes for a visit! All 4 of us were pregnant together - James was born then 6 days later came Gracie (Randi's baby) then 1 day after that came Margaret (Deb's baby) and then 2 wks after that came Zaxton (Ginger's baby). Such a fun memory to share together and so fun to have our kids so close in age too! Below is me holding Gracie!
This is Margaret (Meg) Deb's baby!

My precious new cousin Zaxton (Ginger's baby)!
