Easter Gatherings...

Okay so I know this is wayyy late but it's better now than never, right? So the week before Easter my sister comes up the stairs and sais hey, we're going to Washington to help mom and dad with the remodeling so they could have room for Mike & Leticia to get moved in! So we figured out our schedule and said sweet we're in too! So off we were on a very spontaneous trip to Yakima and it happened to be Easter weekend too so it worked out great! We took the great big truck so we could all ride together, it had so much room it was very nice! So we finally arrived and off to work that next morning we go bright and early! There were fire's to be had, walls to be demolished, loads and loads of who know's what carried outside to be gone through of G&G's stuff, a worthless and gross pool that stank like poo to be demolished into pieces so it could even be hauled off the grass, doors-molding-heaters-lights&fans to be installed, electricity to be well played with is what I think they were really doing since nothing seemed to work just right after they were done messing with it;) and last but not least fitting in some sort of an Easter celebration in with all the work that we were trying to get done in 2 days! But yes Easter was saved! There was egg's being boiled and then colored of course by the adorable kids! We got a fun Easter egg hunt going before church started and yes the normal Easter dinner with yummy mashed patatoes and Ham was delicious - oh wait I must of been dreaming we didn't fit that one in but we did have an absolutely delicious Easter brunch before church and that was better than nothing and less cleanup I think ;) So all in all we made out pretty dang well I think and especially the kids, the Easter bunny was good to them for sure... What ever happened to the Easter bunny anyway, why doesn't he come to parents? I just can't even remember when it stopped really and why does it have to stop, so so so not fare! But I guess it's fun too to see the smile on your kids' face and the excitement as there going through there baskets who could ask for anything more!

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 14

"Mini Heman"
So this is our little Spencer...yes that is a ladder he is climbing at grandma's house...yes it is high off the ground...and yes he climbed the whole entire thing by himself, well with dad of course behind him for safety! I just don't understand he is barely 1 years old and he is climbing up this ladder type staircase which leads up to the playroom! Our boy is a solid rock of muscle that's for sure! I guess it's moment's like this that really make you feel like your baby isn't a baby anymore :( hohum...:(

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 13

"Nothing Tastes as Good as THIN Feels!"

This saying has been my inspiration everytime I come into my house...I have it on my training schedule that is hanging in my mud room so I see it all the time throughout the day..Thanks Rachel for one of the best motivation's I have everyday! And also this whole Diet soda thing...awesome! I always thought there's no way I will even taste that crap~Diet soda, yuck..it was always one of those things I imagined a Mr. Yuck sticker on (remember those growing up they were the best, I wonder why they don't have them anywhere anymore) anyway off the subject! They have absolutely 0 calories and even some of the caffiene free one's are so good too! The Diet squirt and Dr. Pepper are currently my fav's but Diet Mt. Dew is now coming along closely! So who would of thought with all those "diets" out there all you really have to do is count your calories...I've been losing 1-2 pounds a week since doing that and it's so great! So anyway I had to blog this as a tiny moment b/c as I finished my "diet" soda it got me thinking how wonderful this world is that you can have soda and it still have 0 calories...what a wonderful life!

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 12

"Grandpa's & Fishing"
On Saturday Brooklynn went ice fishing with Brian and her grandpa Hirschi! She is definately one lady that loves to fish! She was the master fisherwoman and beat both much more experienced fishermen by being the only one to catch a fish. Daddy Brian and grandpa were very excited for her but of course dissapointed in sitting for hours and not getting anything! Well I know Brian was anyway I'm sure grandpa doesn't mind he goes out all the time! Good job Brooklynn, mommy's very proud of you!

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 11

"Spring, are you coming?"

I'm sure many of you that are not living in Logan can actually see your yard. Here at our house not yet to be seen but maybe a few small patches like you see on the right side of this picture! I don't know why we are the lucky one's to of had a downpoor of snow this year but since it's now the middle of March I gladly welcome mother nature to bring on the sun and warm weather it would be so much appreciated! There's still SO much more snow to be melted...but then again I'm sure this is a tiny moment that needs to be appreciated as well b/c of the droubt, so I guess I will try to see the brighter (no pun intended!) side of this situation!

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 10

"Half way there"

Well, I've made it half way through my training for the half marathon in April! Wahoo... I'm finally on week 7 of the 12 week training, it's all down hill from here! I love that my sister started doing this because I know I wouldn't of done it or even known about it if it wasn't for her! And I've also lost 10 pounds too! I am so excited it gives me that extra push on the day's I have major inner struggle's to get up at 6am to go running or go to the gym...But I'm almost there and I can't wait to have the feeling of wanting to run just to run or staying in shape even after the marathon is over...I'm happier, healthier and more hopeful than I've been in a long time and it feels really good! I definately challenge any of you out there to set a goal like I have if you want to loose weight b/c it is a great way to challenge yourself and motivate you if you can't find any of it in any other way! And thanks to all my family especially my husband for the support in doing this I could use all the help I can get!!!

Friend Tribute...Tracy

Well it's about time I get another friend tribute done...I wanted to do one each month but now that February has come and gone already I guess I'll have to do Marchs' tribute and skip February. Most of you that are reading this blog don't know Tracy but I felt inspired to do one on her because of some news I received last month that has gotton me pretty sad. Tracy is a very close friend of mine that was there for me when I needed someone the most. When I seperated from Taber back in 2001 I needed a place to stay and she, no hesitation took me in, baggage and all! She was always there to talk to and give me advice and just help me in anyway I needed! So I packed everything up and moved in with her to West Jordan, which btw was a 40 min commute to work but it was worth it we just carpooled and she always knew how to make it fun! So obviously she didn't like her picture being taken, at all...and no that's not her throwing up in the sink, she's trying to turn away from me so I won't take her picture...I barely got this and you still can't see her face, darn you tracy! But this was taken while we were making Sunday dinner together, she was a great cook! My favorite memory of living with her was probably her famous and absolutely delicious french toast! She knew that was my favorite morning meal and would make it special for me when she had the time..It was nice because she not only was a close friend but was like a mother figure for me since my mom lived so far away! This is me with her very cuddly cat! His name was garfield and was always sneaking in my room under the bed as often as he could! I know she loved him very much...Also she has a son named Adam..He was in high school when I lived there and was such a great kid! He was so much fun and loved to play with Brooklynn and was very good with her too.We had an awesome Halloween that year too, decorated the porch and got all dressed up and took Brooklynn, which was only 9 mths old, trick or treating...hey it's all about the candy..right! Here's a pic of mommy and my little pumpkin! She was so fun that night and looked so dang cute! She was a trooper too, she stayed up a lot later than usual and was still a happy baby the whole night! We only lived with Tracy for about 6 months but she became our family in just that short amount of time, I love you Tracy and am so grateful for your friendship and hospitality while I was going through my divorce. I really needed someone to lean on at that time and you were more than anyone could of asked for!
I mentioned in the beginning of this post about hearing some bad news I received and I wanted to mention it so that the one's who are reading that do know her or remember her from that time could know what has happened. Once I moved out and got my own apartment in Orem we still kept in contact, but a year or two went by and through moving and phone number changes we lost touch somehow...It was really hard for me b/c these last 3 or 4 years I started having these reacurring dreams about me searching for her, or her being hurt or dying..all different scenarioes that each time I had the dream I would awake in distraught. I always felt there was a reason I needed to find her..A couple time's I tried looking her up and I always came to a de*dend(sorry for some reason this blog won't let me write out the word)...Finally just recently I couldn't handle the dreams anymore and the feeling that kept upon me so strongly to find her... haunted me and I couldn't handle it anymore so I just paid a small fee on a people search site and finally saw her name and a number. So I called it and it was her mom in California! I was so happy and relieved I didn't hit another de*dend...But the words I was about to hear couldn't of been anymore dissapointing and sad. Her mom began to tell me that on April 30, 2004 (in the same year I started those dreams) Tracy lived in SLC and got a phone call from one of her friends in Orem that was too drunk to drive home so Tracy at 2 am went to pick her up..(she always had the biggest heart)so on the way back on I-15 she was having car troubles so pulled over on the shoulder of the freeway. A drunk driver hit her car while they were in it and she had to be life flighted to the hospital for an emergency surgery on her head. She ended up living through all of that but now has brain damage and cannot do a lot of things that most of us can do and that I'm sure many of us take for granted. She now can't read or write, she can't do math and lost a lot of her memory. She only remembers certain things and there is a lot that she now doesn't remember and I'm afraid that all these things I posted she doesn't remember. I havn't been able to talk to her in person yet, just her mom but her mother warned me that she may not remember me at all. But after a few years of her mom taking care of her, she is now at a point where she's good enough to live on her own again. So she is in an apartment 10 min down the road from her mom in California, so I am thankful that she survived that horrible and is doing so well. I just miss her and wish that I could talk to her but time will tell if she'll ever remember our friendship and the memories we shared that I know were special to her too!
I love you Tracy and if you ever see this I want you to know I still have your grandpa's rocking chair and it's in just as good of condition as it was when you gave it to me! I love it and it goes so nicely in my new home...I hope we all take this story and think about all the very little things god gave us that we forget to be grateful for sometimes when life get's so hectic and busy...

OH ALL THE DIFFERENT PLACES...

So during these past months of Spencer's poor bum hurting from this ongoing rash we have had to come up with different ways to help him feel better. Now as part of our routine in the mornings mommy puts him in the garage sink to wash off his bum of all the crap from that night, since morning diapers are the worst. He would just scream when I would wipe him so we thought why not rinse him instead! Well it works wonders, he loves the water and I love seeing him happy so it works out GREAT! I just have to make time to go into the bath upstairs to have play time since we take mini baths every morning he kind of gets screwed on the play time with all his bath toys! But his rash is finally looking so much better and I hope it continues so I do whatever it takes even if it means to wash him off in the garage! Here is a cute video daddy took of him in the sink! Oh yeah and the picture below this post is for the same reasons! Uncle Adam gave him a bath in the kitchen sink just to give his bum a break from the diaper, but I feel better about washing off feces into the garage sink then our kitchen sink ;) Ok so this is kind of a gross post but it is part of our everyday lately so I thought I should share! And he just looks so dang cute...

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 9

"Rub-a-dub-dub 2 kids in a SINK?"
This is how you know your 7 year old is too skinny...when she can take a bath in your sink with your 1 year old! Our darling Brooklynn...she may be little but she sure has a big heart! I love this picture of her gently brushing the water away from her little brother's face...Is there anything more to melt your heart :) She sure loves her brother and always wants to be where he is, well most the time...until she needs her alone time of course! She is a great sister and I know he will always be looking up to her in the future as they get bigger and bigger. I wonder at what age Brooklynn will finally no longer fit in the sink...time will tell I guess!

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 8

"GARBAGE MONSTER"
Can he get into any more trouble, this kid! I find him always getting into things he's not suppose to and now this one took the cake! I found the air vent on the ground, out of the wall (down below by his feet), trash out of the garbage can scattered on the floor, chocolate slim fast on the carpet and all down his shirt and seeped all the way onto his onesie. This boy definately keeps me on my toes! He was very upset when I took him away from his very messy no no and threw a huge temper tantrum, which by the way I am getting a lot more of everyday! I sure hope this garbage phase is going to end soon that's for sure!

THE BIG 1...SLOW DOWN PLEASE!

I can't believe it's really here...He's 1 years old :( Why do they have to grow up so dang fast?? It seems like yesterday I was complaining about being too fat and pregnant and just wanting him to come out and now I'm complaining that he's growing up way too fast! We are never truly satisfied are we! We had a fun celebration last night for his birthday and it was a lot of fun! It was great to see him eat his very first cupcake and let him go crazy with it..he wasn't sure what to do at first but he finally realized he was getting to eat it and get as messy as he wants! He got so many fun presents, just to name a few...some cute outfits and swim trunks for our summer lovin in Bear Lake time.. puzzells.. stuffed animals.. fun musical toys.. and probably the hit of the night was his big yellow Tonka Truck, I can't believe how much he loves that thing it was so cute, as soon as he spotted it no other present was important at that time he couldn't stop looking at it and wanting to get to it! He is definately his father's son! We had some really good burger's, salads, chips & dip, jello;) and TONS of dessert. C'mon you can't come to a Hirschi bash without chocolate or some kind of dessert...It's a Hirschi trait I've come to realize but it's a GREAT trait to have, well except when your trying to loose weight but other than that it works out wonderfully! All the kids had a blast downstairs with the air hockey table and pool table! I knew those purchases would come in handy one day! And at the end of the night we enjoyed watching video's of Spencer's 1st year of life from the day he was born to now, it's amazing to see the transformation that takes place in one short year...they learn so much...and they just keep continuing to learn and teach you things as well! Thanks Spencer for being such a joy in our life and a blessing! We all love you so much and can't wait to see what you'll teach us and what you'll learn in another year of life!

SCRAPFEST 2008...

What a glorious day...full of scrappin, chatting, lots and lots of goodies, friends, family and just good ole times! It all started with Rachel coming home Friday evening with Jessica and Lindsey! We spent the evening shopping for last minute scrap supplies-except me since I forced myself not to buy anymore since I have tons that I havn't even used yet! Then we were off to the Center Street Grill to eat some grub! Later the shopping for all the srap treats had to be done and just anxiously awaiting Jaime Lynn's arrival! Well not anxious enough they didn't get in until after midnight so of course we all were in bed when they got here! Then Saturday morning the festivities began! Early in the morning the boys (Brian,Adam&Robert) all geared up for a fun day of Snowmobiling at the sinks in Logan Canyon! So after they left our fun girls day of nothing but scrappin began! A babysitter came for Spencer and I was set to enjoy a day of nothin but fun! Thank you Kaitlyn your the best! A lot of great neighbors popped in throughout the day to say hi and steal some fun ideas and it was great to talk to them and get to know them better, we're gonna have to have a party soon with all our neighbors...It's about that time! So as the day came to an end I had my massage ladies come by for a couple of hours and all the gals got in some well needed relax time! Randi and Gavin made it over for some fun social time with the girls! Randi doesn't really scrap but she still came over and I'm so happy that she did, your such a great sister-in-law and friend Randi! Then for dinner we all headed over for some great Mexican food for Rachel's birthday celebration, well one of the many fun celebrations! It was great to get to know Emilie and Lorie (friends of Jaime lynn & Rach on Srapbook.com) they were a blast and very fun to scrapbook with, especially to get new ideas from! Thanks for driving up here from Provo/Orem it was so good to get to know you! So Sunday was great, Happy 32nd Birthday Rach...we scrapped on and off some more, played some games and Adam made a great chinese dinner and Robert was his assistant chef, good job boys! Monday was the last and final chance to scrap! Which of course we did...but then it finally came...the time to clean everything up...the time that was dreaded but knew it would come sooner or later...why oh why do great times have to end???But with many hands the house was put back together in no time! Some played one last game while other's finished packing. I took that time to finally get my scrapbook room completely organized, it's such a great feeling! Thanks to everyone that made it and especially thanks to the boys for putting up with the scrap-a-holics...It just makes us so happy! And especially you Brian thanks for giving me the time to get some well needed scrapping done and time to spend with good friends...your a trooper...thank you so very much, I love you! Well that is it, so sad it's over but it made for wonderful memories!

TINY LITTLE MOMENTS...DAY 7

" COULD SHE BE ANYWHERE ELSE "
Our beautiful daughter and her facination with the hot tub. She is obsessed with the hot tub. In fact if you were at our house as a regular you would hear every night the question being asked, " brian can we go in the hot tub?" And if he can't she moves on to Adam, Rachel, me you name it if we're around she ask's. I love the fact that she is so committed to something, even if it's a non physical activity it still show's determination! When she wants something she doesn't hesitate to ask or even demand if any of you know Miss Brooklynn she can get just a tad bit bossy! Mommy and Aunt Rachel have to put her in check often, but she is learning and getting much better thanks to having a sibling in the home I think...Being the only child for 6 years can definately become a problem when it comes to attitude and selfishness but she has come a long way and I'm very proud of her. We love you sweet Brooklynn and would never change you for the world!
