Conference Weekend...

So here are the pictures from the first weekend of October, General Conference Weekend! Traditionally the Hirschi Family goes to their cabin in St. Charles, which is at Bear Lake. So this year we were able to go and had a good time! Spencer loves playing w/his cousin Gavin and had a great time helping grandpa harvest the potatoes! We took a little 4-wheeler ride up to some really pretty leaves that had changed, so gorgeous! Then up a hill and had a fabulous view, but had to head home b/c it started sprinkling on us but made it home in time w/out getting too wet! I had to add a picture of our ride home to Logan that weekend on Sunday. Obviously no one planned on a winter snow storm in the canyon the first weekend of October...poor motorcycle dude - he went down just shortly after we passed him and I hope he didn't get hurt. We almost got in a wreck too b/c there was a crash in the middle of the road around a corner but luckily we were in the truck that day and had good four wheel drive!

Also this month brings on hunting season of course! So earlier this month Brian was invited to a private hunting club to go pheasant hunting and he loved it. He got to go w/his brother Brent and his friend Matt who invited them both, so good boys trip! Then this week is the deer hunt, Brian hasn't done too much hunting this week b/c of the amount of work he has right now but went w/his dad to Bear Lake yesterday and got a buck this morning and of course he's very happy about that! He's not back yet, I'm sure they are out right now so his dad can get one!

Brian got a dog a few weeks ago, her name is Abby and keeps the cat company. They actually play really well together, most of the time anyway. Brooklynn and Spencer adore them and love having them to play with. Of course Abby is an outside dog since I'm allergic to them so it's good we have a big garage for the animals so it works out okay. I'm still trying to adjust to the situation, being pregnant and having a puppy is not ideal as most would agree but some things in life hit us head on and we just have to figure them out somehow. Brian and Brooklynn take care of the animals so that's also helping me get through it, plus she is very cute. She is a pure bred yellow lab so great w/kids and a smart dog too. She's already learned to sit but the potty training thing is still not done, getting better but not done.

Midnight Madness 2009

Each year our ward has a Midnight Madness Enrichment Activity! I've not ever done it before but thought it would be fun to see what it's all about! So I signed up for a few crafts and gave it a go. Basically you pay a certain amount of money for each project for the materials and then you make them that day/night w/everyone. It was so much fun and I'll definitely be doing it every year that I can from now on! I guess before, when I was "younger" I just always thought of "Enrichment" for the "older people" and just never had the desire to be "older".... Well that proves that you really can't judge things without trying them out and seeing for yourself before you assume you won't like it! I guess maybe now that I'm "older" w/kids and a home to fill w/fun little crafts it's more appealing but I sure wish I would of just attempted more of those activities sooner in life before I just assumed they weren't for me. You really can't judge a book by it's cover!! I love my ward and my neighbors they are so amazing and so quick to help in any situation! We are blessed to have them and I am so grateful for everything we have these days.

Just thought it would be fun to post this picture below b/c of how crazy it is that their are so many girls in my ward pregnant right now along w/so many in my family! These girls are all my neighbors and good friends! Love them all! And by the way there was 2 missing from this picture too by the time we took it they had left.

PROMPTINGS AND INSPIRATIONS...

Promptings and Inspirations were not only
the main topic at church today but also have been happening to me in many different ways. I have been really in a great place lately and feeling so good about myself and happy. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the exercising and training for marathons well and eating better too. But also spiritually. Today at church everything felt so good and perfect. For the last couple weeks I have been in turmoil over a situation that has been on my mind for and seems to consume my thoughts every day. Some days are better than other's but this is different. I've come to the conclusion that it is definately the spirit. The holy ghost has been trying to tell me something that I havn't really understood until now. I found it so ironic that this was the topic at church today especially because of what I've been praying for and dealing with these past weeks. Heavenly Father sure has his hand in everything we do, I truly believe that and we just have to be prepared and ready to listen to what he needs us to do here on earth for those who are not here anymore. I'm trying to prepare myself the best I can to do what I know now I need to do but I just hope I can be understood and welcomed with an open heart and an open mind. I just feel so compelled and havn't felt the spirit so strongly as I have lately in a long time and it feels so good! I just wanted to write down these feelings and possibly help anyone else realize how important it is to listen to the promptings of the spirit even the small things. I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life and to know without a doubt that we can be with our families forever and through eternity if we do what is right and follow God's plan. I just loved church today and am so grateful for so many faithful and welcoming neighbors and members in our ward, I love them all so much and am so grateful for all there friendships and help! I just hope that everyone can love the gospel as much as I do at this very moment and cherish it with all your heart, it is truly a blessing to have it in our lives.

DECEMBER IN UTAH...

I know my posts are all out of order but that's what happens when you don't post one till after all the fun stuff! I'll get on track soon enough! Before spending Christmas in Washington we did some fun activities in Utah. One favorite December tradition for us is going to Temple Square to see the lights! It was full of snow, lights, beautiful buildings, hot chocolate and friends. We went with my sister Rachel and her husband Adam, Brent, Randi and there son Gavin on a spur of the moment trip! We had to warm up from the snowy storm in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel so while we did that we took advantage of memorable pictures! I love the spirit the holiday's bring not only for those your around all the time but everyone else around you the spirit is so strong and joyous.
