Calling ALL Parents...

Well it all started w/being woke up by some footsteps downstairs...it's always Brooklynn but this time was different. I yelled down to Brook and the response was a little 2 yr old's mischievious voice saying "hi mommy"... I went down and found him w/the freezer open getting into the ice cream...then his hair was covered w/hand sanitizer, our electronic system on the wall was all messed up & all my papers on the counter all over! He had climbed out of his crib and came down the day before during his nap so now he thinks he can come down any time he wants -- let the game's begin ~

I didn't get pics of the early am mess but here is the rest of our morning! The pictures should tell the story quite well...

YES this is PERMANENT marker... It was all over the glass of these doors too but I luckily got that off -- the walls had to be completely repainted... Daddy your such a trooper -- that's what his whole Saturday consisted of, we've been needing to do a lot of touch up places in the home anyway so he was painting throughout the whole house all day!

On our furniture .. Thanks to some paint thinner that came off w/out taking the varnish off -- lucky boy!

"Daddy that wasn't me" -- On our hardwood...came off w/paint thinner as well!

It's okay daddy -- I really don't know any better, promise!!!

Not even 1 hour later... Purposely threw his cereal bowl on the floor food, milk and all!

WHO ME??!!??!! How can you not still love me w/this cute face!!! I didn't get a picture of it but as he was in Time Out for the wall ordeal he would sneak over to his tools and shove them into the vacuum hole in the wall trying to stuff it full of his toys -- thus almost getting one stuck inside & ruining our central vac system. And all of this happened before it was even 11 am & he gets up at 8. It was a really rough morning .... let's put it that way... The lord was really trying our patience for sure!
And to top it all off the exact moment I caught him writing on the walls I looked outside to this--snow at the END of April!!! The pictures don't even do it justice...The size of the snowballs coming down were humongous and so depressing. I wanted to cry at that very moment of punishing my son and really not sure how we would fix the mess...I'm so grateful for Brian he is Mr. fixit around here and we appreciate it so much!
So to all you mom's out there...please tell me I'm not alone--sometimes I feel like I'm the only one w/a CRAZY little boy... I really mean he's CRAZY--we love him but he's so CRAZY!!! Are boys just more wild then girls?!?! I really don't remember Brooklynn giving me this much of a challenge, or maybe I just supressed it and don't remember!!! Anywho that was our day on Saturday hope yours was better than ours!!! :)

Jaimee...oh, how I feel ya! Shay, my three almost 4 year old had an episode with Sharpe's and the walls. I was asleep...she WAS asleep and woke up to do some drawing. Eddie caught her with black, blue, pink, yellow and green markers all over herself and the walls in the bathroom and hall. I was drugged and dead asleep...so no help. Her response was, "It is your fault Dad. You should have put them up higher so I can't reach them." You are so not alone. Sorry you had such a bad morning...hopefully it get's better! Love ya!

Uhh, Jaimee, you're really starting to scare me a little here about baby boys! :) But seriously, how can you resist that adorable face. I'm glad you documented this. It will probably be a sweet memory to you in the DISTANT future!

Love ya!

Spencer is such an adventure seeker! Like I said, I'm glad you took pictures and posted this because someday you will look back and laugh! Sometimes I think little kids like to explore new things so much that they don't care about/realize the consequences! And I agree, how can you be mad at that cute face? He is such a fun kid! :)

I am sure that laughing is not what was happening in the moment though, right?

Seriously, how can you get angry at that adorable little boy? Wait a minute, I have an adorable five year old that I get too mad at all of the time. :)

Can't wait to maybe see you this weekend. We still haven't heard if it is for sure. You'll know when I know! I think they are a bit scared that this is becoming more real for them.

all you need is a mr. clean magic ereaser. It gets rid of anything, and it doesn't hurt kids unless they eat it. it works ever time for us! No repainting, or paint thinner, just mr. clean and water!
Good luck, were going through similar messes here too!

Next time use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It works wonders. I know it works on pen, pencil, and crayon (not sure about marker), but worth the try.

Oh sister I remember this day I was talking to you as it all unfolded! He is sweet and adorable but coming from a fellow mommy of boys it wont be the last time. Sorry for the bad news but its true boys usually are very very curious and are into everything. I know that you have done your best to boy proof and so have I but they always seem to find something. They only advice I can share is discipline discipline discipline and doing it consistently. You have to fight those looks and those I LOVE YOU mommy hugs and kisses at least until the time out is over! GL I love that all of us sisters are going through the crazy boy stage together!

Love you!

I forgot to check your post after our walk the other day. Little did I know what you meant when you said that I got lucky with the little mark on our counter top. Oh my gosh-- that is hilarious, but I know it was traumatic at the moment. The little "Soorry" at the end was totally irresistible!!! That little boy is awesome. Good thing you got some pictures for posterity's sake. Just love it...I don't know if it's a "boy thing" or just a "climber/curious/adventurous" kid thing. They just can't think through things at age 2. CUTE. Good job Brian for fixing.

oh jaimee, so sorry! we've had days like that, just one thing after another. it's a good thing they're also so adorable or really, we'd go completely nuts. :)

(and the magic erasers really do miracles, though i've never tried them on permanent marker)
