Thanksgiving already???

Well the time has just really got past me these days. And since today is Thanksgiving I thought I'd better catch up our blog so I can post our Thanksgiving festivities before Christmas ;-) No I promise I'll try and do that in the next few days! We're off to the Hirschi's house for Thanksgiving this year and will spend the day and night there w/all his family so it will be a nice relaxing visit this year! I'm so grateful for family that's close and family that's far, chocolate pie, health, turkey sandwiches, good friends, warm home, beautiful healthy children & some on the way, pictures, love, sacrifice, the gospel and of course my dear heavenly father! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and I hope you are all filled w/love, family and lots of good food!!!

Brian took Spencer fishing w/his dad, Brent & Gavin up at Hyrum dam just a couple weeks ago. They caught a lot of fish and Spencer LOVES doing those outdoor things w/his dad and I'm so grateful that Brian loves it too! Brooky was at school that morning so she missed out but she has lot's of other opportunities to go other times so it works out okay.

Since I'm a month late almost I thought I'd better post our Halloween pictures! So here you are! They had a great time since this year we decided to take a four wheeler w/a trailer hooked to it around the neighborhood - ya took 3 yrs to get smart! If anyone knows our house there's lot's of big hills so it worked out perfectly and I think we'll have to do it every year from now on! Spencer was so fun to watch this year b/c it was the first year he could run up to the house w/all the other kids w/out his parents and know what to do and get really excited about it! I can't believe how fast they grow. Brooklynn was a witch this year and Spencer was a Giraffe. Brian's sister & family, brother & his parents all joined us at our house this year and we had the famous chili in a pumpkin w/scones dinner! I love that tradition I made :) Hope you all had a fun and awesome Halloween too!

Pumpkins, Family & Snow Oh My...

Here's a taste of what's been going on at the Hirschi home this past week! Gorgious sunny weather then BAM -- LOTS OF SNOW! Just one day of it though but a ton fell in just 8 hours! The boy's LOVED it as you can tell! Gavin's been visiting w/his mommy this week so Spencer and him have got to do a lot of fun things together :) Plus experience their first snow day of the year together! Also we went to the pumpkin walk by our house, luckily the day before the storm so it was great weather and good fun! Then we had Brian's parent's over to carve pumpkins, always the highlight tradition the week of Halloween! Then to end the carving night Brian took the kids in the hot tub and the boys thought it was the GREATEST thing to get to go in together!
Oh yes and I can't forget Spencer having to work w/his daddy ALL the time! As you can tell he took his tools out to where his dad was working and copied him in everything he was doing it was absolutely adorable, I don't think I've ever seen such a boy want to be exactly like his daddy! So cute!!

Then there's Brooklynn's 'new' self! She said as she walked out of the salon the other day "mom, I feel like a new person!" It was so funny! She definitely looks like a new girl w/such short hair but that's what she wanted and asked for! I was all for it since it will be so much easier to manage! The only bad part about it is that I think she looks older and that is not what any parent wants to see in their kids :( But it is cute and fits her personality to a T!!! Well we're gearing up for the big day tomorrow...Brook is going to be a witch and Spencer a Giraffe - then we'll be making our traditional Chili in a pumpkin w/scones...so stay tuned for Halloween pics! Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Conference Weekend...

So here are the pictures from the first weekend of October, General Conference Weekend! Traditionally the Hirschi Family goes to their cabin in St. Charles, which is at Bear Lake. So this year we were able to go and had a good time! Spencer loves playing w/his cousin Gavin and had a great time helping grandpa harvest the potatoes! We took a little 4-wheeler ride up to some really pretty leaves that had changed, so gorgeous! Then up a hill and had a fabulous view, but had to head home b/c it started sprinkling on us but made it home in time w/out getting too wet! I had to add a picture of our ride home to Logan that weekend on Sunday. Obviously no one planned on a winter snow storm in the canyon the first weekend of October...poor motorcycle dude - he went down just shortly after we passed him and I hope he didn't get hurt. We almost got in a wreck too b/c there was a crash in the middle of the road around a corner but luckily we were in the truck that day and had good four wheel drive!

Also this month brings on hunting season of course! So earlier this month Brian was invited to a private hunting club to go pheasant hunting and he loved it. He got to go w/his brother Brent and his friend Matt who invited them both, so good boys trip! Then this week is the deer hunt, Brian hasn't done too much hunting this week b/c of the amount of work he has right now but went w/his dad to Bear Lake yesterday and got a buck this morning and of course he's very happy about that! He's not back yet, I'm sure they are out right now so his dad can get one!

Brian got a dog a few weeks ago, her name is Abby and keeps the cat company. They actually play really well together, most of the time anyway. Brooklynn and Spencer adore them and love having them to play with. Of course Abby is an outside dog since I'm allergic to them so it's good we have a big garage for the animals so it works out okay. I'm still trying to adjust to the situation, being pregnant and having a puppy is not ideal as most would agree but some things in life hit us head on and we just have to figure them out somehow. Brian and Brooklynn take care of the animals so that's also helping me get through it, plus she is very cute. She is a pure bred yellow lab so great w/kids and a smart dog too. She's already learned to sit but the potty training thing is still not done, getting better but not done.

Midnight Madness 2009

Each year our ward has a Midnight Madness Enrichment Activity! I've not ever done it before but thought it would be fun to see what it's all about! So I signed up for a few crafts and gave it a go. Basically you pay a certain amount of money for each project for the materials and then you make them that day/night w/everyone. It was so much fun and I'll definitely be doing it every year that I can from now on! I guess before, when I was "younger" I just always thought of "Enrichment" for the "older people" and just never had the desire to be "older".... Well that proves that you really can't judge things without trying them out and seeing for yourself before you assume you won't like it! I guess maybe now that I'm "older" w/kids and a home to fill w/fun little crafts it's more appealing but I sure wish I would of just attempted more of those activities sooner in life before I just assumed they weren't for me. You really can't judge a book by it's cover!! I love my ward and my neighbors they are so amazing and so quick to help in any situation! We are blessed to have them and I am so grateful for everything we have these days.

Just thought it would be fun to post this picture below b/c of how crazy it is that their are so many girls in my ward pregnant right now along w/so many in my family! These girls are all my neighbors and good friends! Love them all! And by the way there was 2 missing from this picture too by the time we took it they had left.

Ok so I just had to post these pics b/c I love how my friend, Randi and we get to be pregnant together again! It's great going through the process together and having our father in law want to take pics of our "belly progress" every few Sunday's! It's fun though and by the way these pictures look we had fun taking them :) Love that girl and am so thankful to have her not only in my family but one of my best and closest friends! So she had her ultrasound today and is having a girl so that will be a nice change of pace!! Bring on some more Hirschi girls---paleaseeeee!!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Just thought I'd share these so my family far away can see them. Healthy baby, was moving around a lot during the ultrasound (yup I'm sure another very active boy is on it's way)... But a friend said to me yesterday something that makes so much sense and helps me put it all into better perspective. It may be chaotic and loud a lot of the times w/boys but looking at the bigger picture really helps you get through it. Meaning we are raising these boys to become great men who will do a lot of good in this world! Well at least we hope they will in some way or another! These little boys will be men one day and can become strong, spiritual and smart leaders in whatever they put their minds too! It was such confounding words it really helped me realize what I'm doing here w/these kids and what amazing things can come out of it if I am teaching them correctly -- now for knowing how to teach them correctly is a whole other discussion ;) I just want my kids to be happy & healthy and one day have the ambition to do great things w/their lives and raise their own families so getting to have another boy is really a dream come true :)

He was rubbing his eyes quite a few times during the ultrasound it was really cute!

Well here's the proof...yah no mistaking it that's for sure!

Here's the lower half of his body in 3D

And here's the side shot in just the regular ultrasound...

They also moved my due date to March 6th instead of March 10th!!! So now I have the same due date as my sister-in-law, Deb, she lives on the east coast and is married to Brian's brother. It's just crazy how life works sometimes and how things work out - so much fun! Her and Randi (my other sister-in-law due on March 8th) both get their ultrasounds on Monday so I can't wait to see what their both having!!!

Big Blue & Brooklynn's Dance Revue ~

Here are some fun picture's of the last couple weeks for us! On May 9th we threw a Big Blue party at our house w/our neighbor friends The Higgenbothoms! It's a long story of how this party came about but the short version is we were at a Utah State women's sport's fundraiser last fall and won it at the auction! We were bidding against eachother along w/other people & finally realized we could just share the cost and throw it together since it ended up just being the two of us in the end so that's what we did!!! It was a lot of fun and we had great weather! Big Blue was scheduled for only 30 minutes at our house but he ended up staying for a little over an hour, it was awesome! I think he was having so much fun he just didn't want to go - or it could be the fact that he knew some of the people there and wanted to give them a little extra :) For whatever reason we were sure lucky and very happy! Thanks to everyone that came and helped pull it all together, it was a great success!

So I had to add the hot tub shots in b/c this was the end of the day when everyone had left. Brian and his dad were taking down the bounce house and cleaning up the outside while Brian's mom and I were inside cleaning up from dinner when all of a sudden Brian looked over to find Spencer and this is what he found! Some of the kids at the party (mainly our daughter) had left the hot tub cover off and Spencer decided he wanted to swim and when Spencer decides what he wants he does it! Thankfully that is the only spot he had gone in and Brian found him soon enough but he was still soaking wet and we were all panicing w/our hearts pounding and it took a while to feel ok after that experience that's for sure! You know the feeling you have when your almost in a car wreck (I mean really close to it) well that's the feeling I had inside...and my heart wouldn't stop pounding for a while realizing what could of happened. We were very lucky and the daughter definetely got a talking to about the importance of closing it &/or asking someone to do it for her b/c we could of found him floating and drowned which my heart is now pounding again writing about it and re-remembering that day! So these are the stunts that are really wearing on me/us as parents and I sure hope he get's out of this phase FAST!!! I/we love this boy but boy does he give us a run for our money!!!
Brooklynn's end of the year Dance Revue was Saturday May 16th at the Skyview High School Auditorium and she did so good! She took a year or two off and I wasn't sure how easily she'd get back into it and she was amazing! Her class performances were some of the best one's (not being biest or anything) I really hope she continues to do it and I think she could be an amazing dancer one day if it is her dream! She had a fun year doing it and I really hope she continues to love it and progress! We love you Brooky and are so very proud of you! Her grandma & grandpa Hirschi also made it to watch her and even though she doesn't show her feelings too well she was really excited they came and I know it helps her to have those she loves there to support her!

(fyi) most of these pictures are horrible, it was dark so flash doesn't work and I don't have a really nice camera to get good shots with, without making them blurry so sorry but you get the idea!!

May Update...

Well life in the Hirschi home is back to many trips through the canyon, long long working days, watercraft to be prepared for rentals, many phone calls and figuring out employee schedules! This is just the beginning of our hectic & stressful summer but that's our way of life and our livelihood so I try to be as supportive as I possibly can as a wife and mother and try really hard not to let it get in the way of being a good mom & wife. It is definitely hard that's for sure b/c I tend to feel like a single mom a lot this time of year but Brian makes up for that the rest of the year! So it's worth it in the long run!

An update on our home in Bear Lake! It's finally DONE!!! We have all our stuff moved over & just some organizing still left to do. It's gonna be so great to have the little extra space and I can't wait to share it w/our family & friends! It's not decorated yet so I'll put some pics up of that when it's done but here's some recent one's for those who are interested!

So it's just the basics in each room for now until I have the time this summer to decorate and have it exactly the way I want it but it's a good start! Some rooms are done and some not but enough to live in it in just 3 short weeks! I have so much more cupboard space I don't know what to do w/it! Compared to the Funtime home we didn't have much space at all so I actually have some empty shelves & cupboards..it's GREAT!
Also the mini crib I had for Spencer b/c of space previously may not work for much longer! He is so tall that he is the length of the bed so I may just have to do what I've been dreading for months now and that's putting him in his toddler bed..uugghh..that is a step I was wanting to put off as long as possible but it's looking like I just might not be able to wait anymore! I want the poor dude to be comfortable at least and not hitting his head and feet on the bed every time he turns around!
So that's it! Kind of the short version of what's been going on in our house these days...Yes short version! So we are moving over for the summer the first weekend in June and will be there until the middle of August! We'll miss our friends, neighbors & ward members a lot but it's not forever just a couple months!

6th Folder 6th Picture Tag ~

This is when Brooklynn was 5 yrs old at her first class for swim lessons! She was sooo excited and obviously since she's posing and hamming it up for the camera! That was her favorite dance pose, she also was starting dance for the first time that year too!
