JUNE ADVENTURE'S...

Free fishing day was earlier in June...As you can tell it was really cold! It actually snowed where we were for a few minutes but thankfully that was it, but seriously snow in June!! I also woke up one morning for my run and there was 2 inches of snow on the ground!!! The weather here this year is just crazy..But it has finally warmed up and it feels like summer! There were many fish caught and when it rained it poured! We would go forever without a bite and then once one pole got a bite so did 2 and 3 other's all at the same time! Even though it was cold it was fun to hang out and have lunch with everybody and there were moments of the sun peeking through the clouds and those moments we had a second of warmth! We missed Brooklynn she was with her dad that weekend but hopefully she'll make it there next year!

Each year we head over to third dam in Logan Canyon for a fun filled family night! This year was quite spontanious and not planned but still worked out great in the end! Brian got all the food and we packed the kids and bug spray in the car and headed over! We had roasted hamburger's and hot dogs over the fire, chips, fruit and yummy cookies! Then some went fishing in the resevoir and caught some fish and other's headed up the trail to a waterfall...Well made the effort anyway! Our dear pregnant sis (brian's sister) made it half way up and had to turn back, it was ALL uphill...Brian and I kept going with the kids and of course just a few more steps up the kids were wiped they wanted to go back so I took them back while Brian finished with Spencer on his back, he was determined to make it and he did! Spencer had it the easiest I'd have to say as you can all see in the picture above! Dad did all the work but he didn't mind I think he liked having Spencer in that pack we havn't got to use it much and so he was breaking it in very well! So after all the fun and good conversations we headed home and the kids were extremely dirty but I say the dirtier they are the more fun they had!!! Brook was all over the place and never around for any pics but you can catch a small glimpse of her on the picnic table eating food!! If there's one thing she'll sit around for it's food! But who wouldn't right!!! As so here we come July I'm sure we'll have many more adventures to write about and this time I'll try to do it sooner than once a month!

Now What????

Well the last two months of training since the Salt Lake Marathon has come and went...Race day in Bear Lake for our 2nd half marathon was on Saturday and went Grrreat! It was the first one ever there so there were some glitches but all in all it was done as well as expected! Running there was really cool especially with the mountains and beautiful water to look at! The weather was absolutely perfect, we even got a little tan because of it! Starting out I thought for sure Brian would do what he did last time and take off right away leaving me and Randi in his dust...But he said he'd run with me for at least a couple miles and he followed his word! Except his pace is way much faster than mine and Randi's but I really wanted to run with him b/c I knew he'd have to go faster sooner or later and we have yet to get that chance to run together b/c he's always listening for the kids as I go at 6am running in the mornings...So even though I went faster than I normally would and had to slow down after 2 miles of it, it was definitely worth it to run with him and get "you look so cute right now" comment from him which doesn't happen all the time so it was really nice! But poor Randi she didn't dare go that fast, smart girl, so we didn't even get to run together at all! Surprisingly enough she met a group of girls from Washington State that adopted her and ran with her to keep her going! Geeezzz Brian why did you have to run so fast?!! But the interesting thing is that these girls she ran with one of them was my roommate at the Riviera in Provo back in 1998 or 99 somewhere around there! It was Rebbecca and we shared rooms together and she was fabulous! So I may have never saw her if it didn't happen the way it did so I guess it's okay you ran so fast Bri!!! We all did really good...Brian and I both got within 5 - 8 minutes better than the Salt Lake Marathon back in April. What a great feeling to know that all the training and hard work I've put into this has paid off! Also when I finished it I felt so good and could actually stand and not be out of breath exhausted to death I could stand and talk normal and smile so that must mean pretty good stuff right there! My friend Kris sais that means I'm ready for a full marathon, ya I laughed!! Maybe but I don't know that still seems far fetched to me right now we'll see! I'm thinking about doing a mini Triathlon at the end of summer with my pops!!! We'll see what happens I know I need to keep up with staying in shape b/c it is so good for me for so many reasons!!! Thanks to Loran and Marcile (G & G Hirschi) for coming over very early in the morning and taking care of Spencer and Gavin for us I know getting up that early is HARD and we appreciate your help very much!!! We couldn't of done it without you...And having you there at the end with Ginger and the kids for support was wonderful! You guys cheering me on really helped with that last mile in a half which was ridiculous...I thought I was done there cause it was the park but then they said nope another mile in a half going through the city and being so confused the whole time wore me out even more than I already was! But I made it and that's all that matters! Speaking of cheerleaders thanks to Chris and Jenn as I ran past our shop along the way, gave me a boost of energy to get through the end!! What a great group of cheerleaders we had, thanks to all and we're both so grateful for all of you!

2nd Grade Already!!!

I can't believe we actually have a 2nd grader in the house...I'm not that old is that even possible?! School is out now and time to head over to Bear Lake and Brooklynn couldn't be more excited! She gets to spend more time with her daddy and be at the lake who could ask for anything more! So I meant to post this a lot sooner but if you havn't noticed I havn't posted anything in a while and I'm sorry about that but as any of you that know me and our lifestyle this time of year is extremely hectic and I barely find time to even see my husband! But I'm used to it by now I guess and at least we have a place to live over in Bear Lake so we can see him when possible! Brooklynn had a play in her classroom the last week of school and she was great! She had a part in both plays and she did great! Here are some photos and videos of her and her classmates...Grandma Hirschi was able to come and watch and that made her very happy!

Like Father...Like Son!!!

This post is kind of a sequal to my last post...I meant to put the video of the boys and Brooklynn on the four wheeler's and forgot. So here are the video's of Spencer's very first experience with driving his little 4-wheeler all by himself, with his big sissy on back and taking Gavin for a spin!!! This boy is fearless and tough I can't believe how smart and strong he is at such a young age, his daddy and I are hoping to get a football star out of him so he can be just like daddy! And right now he is being just like daddy crazy and fearless on anything that moves!!! Boys will be boys....right!!!

This was his very first time driving the 4-wheeler all by himself...

Sister is such a great teacher and teaches him fun new things all the time!

And of course when Spencer had his best buddy over he had to show his skills off and take him for a ride! And Gavin learned real quick how to drive just like Spence!!! What smart boys we have Randi--or maybe little rebels is more of the term to fit this!

GOOD TIMES...

Well so much time has gone by so fast these days and with so many fun activities with friends, family and the beautiful weather we've had I thought I'd share some of my favorite things we've done these past couple weeks. Sorry it's all wrapped up in one post but if they were seperate it would be way too many at once. To start out you'll see Brooky and Spence having some wild times on his Tonka truck that they both love and push eachother in all the time. It is so cute to see her playing with her baby brother, she loves him so much and it just melts my heart!



Now that the weather has been actually nice enough to be outside that's all the kids want to do and I'm great with that especially when Brooklynn is home, she will take Spencer out and play with him and she's such a great little babysitter and teacher. One day I found myself trying to catch up on some office work while she was with him outside and I heard my name being yelled out...Mom...Mom...Mom over and over so I ran outside thinking something had gone terribly wrong.....Nope! She wanted me to see Spencer driving the little 4-wheeler all by himself...She was next to him off of it and there he was standing on the gas pedal and it was going in circles! She was so proud of herself she kept saying "mom, I taught him that!!!" That was definately one of those moments of oh man my babies are growing up aren't they...So here are some really fun pictures and video's of that....Also the next day we had Randi and Gavin over so Spencer had to teach Gavin how to drive the 4-wheeler and ride on it with him they are so cute I love that their the same age and can experience such fun times together!!!


And yes just because I know my mother is freaking out right now...don't worry mom I bought helmets the next day for them to wear while riding the 4-wheeler!;) So our next fun adventure outside was with all four of us on a beautiful Saturday...finally we've been waiting sooooo long for a sunny Saturday and it finally kind of came. It was great but ended up a little windy later on in the day but we still had time to have some fun family time in our yard before we head over to Bear Lake for the summer and don't get to use our yard much which makes me very sad but that's okay. Daddy filled up the pool with warm water and they soaked up every minute of it....:)


Spencer has been so curious lately watching daddy fix things and always wanting to sit with him in the morning to read the newspaper. He is also finding sneaky ways to climb up to the things he can't reach and wants so badly to do just like all the big people do...



We have also had some great times at the park across the street from Grandma's house! Every Sunday after dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house we walk across the street for some great outdoor bliss! Spencer loves loves loves the slide and will go down it all day if he could! I love hearing him laugh each time and his big smile is just so great to see! Brooklynn has been enjoying it too and now has a secret tree she likes to climb with her cousin Anna! They are too cute together, finally Anna has a girl cousin to play with there's just too many boys in the Hirschi fam!



So I heard about this "fun" run for health days in Smithfield just down the road from us so we decided that would be a fun activity to do with the kids. We signed up for the 10k and expected it to be this "fun" experience. Well I guess it was fun but not the part I thought it was everything afterwards! Brian, Randi and I got up early and set out with Spencer and Gavin on our 6.2 mile run, put them in the jogging stroller, stocked up on toys and as much food as we had time to get down them. So first of all the race started late, so the boys were anxious and not liking the stroller for some reason. Then once we started we realized it's all uphill. Well the first half anyway and I have never trained to start out a race by running up hill right away, it SUCKED... So needless to say we were all wimping out, me more than anyone for some reason I just was not all there mentally that morning and I know part of it was due to our kids crying and just not happy. Spencer seemed to get better and was doing okay but not as good as I had hoped. Gavin just wasn't a happy camper and wouldn't stop crying so his mommy had to take him out and we just walked with him taking turns carrying him while Brian went up ahead. Well to make a long story short we ended up not running the whole 6.2 miles we were only 200 yards short b/c of Gavin just not wanting to be in the stroller so we decided that was okay b/c for our 1/2 marathon training that day we really only needed 4.5 miles so we took it in stride. So we finally finished and for the record Jaimee actually beat Brian at the finish line, and will probably be the one and only time b/c he had the stroller so I had an advantage of not pushing anything but hey I take what I can get, right!! Anyway we decided that if we ever run that again, we will definately either just do the 5k w/the kids so it's not as far or as long, have a better stroller, and or have someone watch them and run the 10k w/out any babies...I guess we learn from these experiences and that's all we can do! But it felt great to do it and we had a chance to see the parade, eat pancakes at the firehouse and visit Grandma Grandy at her house for a bit so all in all it was a GREAT day and thanks for being there to share the memories with Randi and Gavin we love having you around!
